Welcome to Sprinkle of Chaos
Hi there and welcome to my blog!
I am Felicia, and I am the mommy behind Sprinkle of Chaos.
Hi! I'm Felicia
I must admit this isn't my first rodeo. I have tried starting many blogs (I think four) before and just gave up. Mostly out of fear and lack of education on how to grow. Sprinkle of Chaos was created to help inspire other moms, share ideas and hacks, rant about things, and be creative. I am a very creative person, and I have struggled alot in the past by not unleashing that side of my personality.
The name Sprinkle of Chaos came to me one day (after three full days of throwing ideas around) as I was folding laundry. My life is chaotic. The chaos is sprinkled everywhere from being a new mom, being a new stay at home mom, house renovations, decluttering, future moving, future kids etc... get it?
I am 29 years old (I think? --- I honestly can't remember), born and raised in Victoria, BC. I am an island girl at heart and enjoy anything and everything about the outdoors (minus the constant rain). I grew up horseback riding, figure skating, and playing baseball. When I went to high school I was on every single committee that I could be and was very active in volunteering within the community. Dare I say it, I loved almost every moment of highschool. I graduated in 2009 and went on to college to study criminology with hopes of becoming a lawyer someday (spoiler alert: I took my LSAT and worked with lawyers for 6 years--- I have since decided I absolutely do NOT want to be a lawyer... hah!)
I met my husband in 2011 when I was 19 years old. We got serious very quickly because I was moving to Vancouver in a few short months to finish my Bachelors Degree in Criminology. Long story short: he followed me. He was "transferred" for work to Vancouver only a few months after I had relocated and we officially moved in together in 2012. Although we both LOVED Vancouver (my husband still to this day talks about moving back) I grew very anxious about everything. The hustle of everything and the constant "go-go" attitude really skyrocketed my anxiety disorder and made me extremely unhappy. We moved back to Victoria in 2014 and were engaged in early 2015.
2015 was a really tough year for our family; with many heartaches and life curveballs. We decided, for some ridiculous reason, to move to Edmonton, Alberta where it is -30c in the winter time. My family relocated here and I couldn't imagine a life without them close. My husband is also a carpenter, and at that time I was a legal assistant. Income is higher out here and the housing price is substantially lower. We worked very hard to save up enough money to purchase our first home, a dream in Victoria that was almost impossible to achieve; given the ridiculous housing prices. We bought our first house six months after we relocated to Edmonton.
We got married in April of 2016 in Bucerias, Mexico with 37 of our closest friends and family and it was truly the best trip of our lives. We had the absolute most amazing time (minus a few hiccups... of course). We planned for our honeymoon a year later to a destination that had been on my bucket list for years. Some people laughed at us because our wedding was in Mexico and they thought it was ridiculous to do another trip but it was important for me to have a special trip just the two of us before we got pregnant (without 37 extra people to entertain). We went to Bali in 2017 and it was the most amazing two weeks of our lives. We learned so much about eachother and ourselves and have so many fond memories of that trip. A month later we got pregnant with our son.
Fast forward a few years (I still can't believe it's already been a year) and here I am; freshly off of maternity leave. For months I was desperately trying to find part-time work from home so I could stay with our son, but nothing came up that wasn't customer service or direct sales. My husband approached me one day with the idea of starting a Youtube channel. He's been on me about it for quite some time, and I just don't have the courage for that journey quite yet. Atlas, Sprinkle of Chaos was created.
I want this to be a safe place for opinions and topics that matter, but also a fun place where I share our adventures through life. Please subscribe to follow our journey, as I continue to wing it on a daily basis.
Love always, Felicia.
